Natural Deodorant that doesn't stink

Your body has two types of sweat glands – eccrine and apocrine. Eccrine glands are distributed all over the body and are directly on the skin’s surface. While apocrine glands usually develop in areas where there is an abundance of hair follicles, like your underarms. Eccrine glands produce sweat that is usually odorless and almost unnoticeable. Apocrine gland sweat produces a heavier, distinct odor when mixed with the bacteria on your skin. So your sweat doesn’t actually smell. It’s when it mixes with the bacteria on your skin that it releases an odor.

Traditional deodorants and antiperspirants are designed to lessen your body odor and moisture that comes from your armpits. However, the ingredients used could be harmful, and even make your pits smell worse in the long run. Traditional antiperspirants and deodorants can even change the pH balance to make your pits bacteria-friendly sweat pools.

Most store bought deodorants use antimicrobial agents or ethanol to combat the bacteria that makes you smell. Antiperspirants, on the other hand, use aluminum-based salts to plug up the sweat glands so that those armpit bugs have nothing to feast on. .

Don’t expect the same results as traditional deodorants when switching to a natural product. Natural deodorants won’t halt sweat. Instead, they’ll work to minimize odor when things heat up. Their natural antibacterial ingredients and antifungal ingredients prevent odor-causing bacteria from growing — hence, no odor. The longer you use a natural deodorant, the less you tend to sweat.

Here’s the cool thing about using natural deodorant: it contains plant-based and non-toxic ingredients. Their ingredients let the good bacteria on your skin get to work, which reduces odor.
